How to get unstuck in business

Strategies for reducing stress in your business

Stress and frustration hold your business back

Most business owners feel stressed, frustrated, stuck and overwhelmed in their business from time to time. And getting unstuck is the third of the 7 Big Questions about building a beautiful business and life. Often we don’t have effective strategies to reduce and manage our stress and frustration. Most of us probably don’t fully realise, how, when our brain is in a state of stress and overwhelm, it simply doesn’t function as well as it could. What’s more, the harder we try, the more we stress, to get on top of the frustration or break through the overwhelm, we actually make things worse and we’re likely to spiral every further into stress.

So how do we get reduce stress, frustration and overwhelm?

It all starts with two things:

  1. Recognise you are stressed overwhelmed and that your own mental health and wellbeing deserves to be a priority in your business.
  2. Stop what you’re doing and take a breath

Reducing stress starts with thinking differently, and thinking differently won’t be possible for you when you’re in the midst of a whirlpool of frustration and overwhelm.

To help you recognise that you are stuck in the whirlpool, I’ve created a simple tool, a questionnaire:

Take the Big Whirlpool survey and find out if you are in fact stuck.

I’ve written a lot about being stuck and getting unstuck, about frustration and stress, and about overwhelm and what the opposite of overwhelm and stress looks like:
